Dancing on Memories
Dancing on Memories written by Freda Lewkowicz and illustrated by Sally Garland is a touching and moving story that explores memory, love, and the enduring connections between generations. Told with warmth and sensitivity, the book gently captures how memories—both clear and fleeting—shape identity and relationships.
Lewkowicz’s thoughtful storytelling invites readers to honor the past while embracing the present, making this a meaningful and compassionate read for families, caregivers, and anyone touched by memory loss. I love the different examples that the author wrote which are relatable like using the wrong word and forgeting old routines. However, the one thing that brings a smile to Nana’s face is the beautiful music, Swan Lake which is “woven with memories.”
At the end of the book is a section “words to know” which includes both vocabulary words, jewish terms and ballet terms.
