Sparkle

Sparkle written by Alexandra Hoffman and illustrated by Beatriz Mello is part of the Incredible Kids Series, inclusive stories to inspire empathy, acceptance and understanding. She is also the author of Masterpiece, another picture book I reviewed on my website.

This story begins with Jasmine, who loves stories and wants to create her own. However, she struggles to read and write which makes her anxious. How will she write her story? She decides to be creative and express her story with pictures. Her classmates love it and marvel at her beautiful work!

I love this idea because there are so many ways to express ourselves! Sparkle is a wonderful book for any school or home library because it celebrates creativity, inclusivity and “out of box” thinking. To learn more about Alexandra Hoffman, visit her website here.
