Just Bunny and the Great Fire Rescue

Just Bunny and the Great Fire Rescue written by Jeanne LaSala Taylor and illustrated by Ana Sebastian is based on a true story of a young girl named Francesca who loses her beloved sleeping Bunny. Francesca sleeps with with her lovey bunny every night and takes him everywhere. One day when Francesca is out with her mom and sister for dinner, she leaves Bunny at a restaurant. Why does she leave Bunny? She is in a rush because there was a fire in the kitchen!

Francesca feels distraught! How will she get Bunny back? The family rushes back to the restaurant to rescue Bunny from the fire. There are fire trucks everywhere! Francesca’s mom runs up to a fireman and tells him “Bunny is in trouble!” The fireman, named Captain Matteo runs into the restaurant and saves Bunny! What a hero! Francesca and her family are forever grateful and thankful.

This is an ideal time to highlight firefighters, who are heroes every day, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.  A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this book will be donated to the NYFF Burn Center Foundation in recognition of the service and sacrifice of the men and women of the FDNY. 

Jeanne LaSala Taylor

Jeanne LaSala Taylor is an actress and writer. She has written plays, screenplays and now a children’s book Just Bunny and the Great Fire Rescue, that she hopes to expand into a series.

Jeanne has taught acting, voice, speech and movement at several universities including Middlebury College, UC Irvine, the New York Film Academy and Marymount Manhattan College. She is also working to help women in business find their true, connected voices with her Voices at Work seminars.  Jeanne has been seen in off-Broadway plays and musicals, as well as on TV and in independent films.

Jeanne was also the original Artistic Director and a founding member of Coyote REP Theatre Company which produced plays in Manhattan and “sound plays” for iTunes. She just narrated her first audio book for Audible; Dancing with Shiva by Lynette Brice. She is an avid New York Yankees fan and is incredibly proud to have graduated from the University of Virginia (BA English) and UC Irvine (MFA Acting).
