Middle School Matters

Do you have a child in middle school? Middle School Matters is a must read for all parents of middle school students. After reading this book, I gained some wonderful tools and strategies for both parenting a middle schooler and working with middle school students as an educator.  I love how she combines both personal and professional experiences to help both parents and educators understand this age group. She discusses various scenarios throughout the book that many parents can relate to and provides easy to use suggestions on how to navigate and resolve these situations.

Phyllis helps parents use the middle school years as a low-stakes training ground to teach kids the key skills they’ll need to thrive now and in the future, including making good friend choices, negotiating conflict, regulating their own emotions, acting as their own advocates, and more.

She talks more about her book during our podcast (above!) and also discusses the current COVID-19 crisis and her suggestions for reducing anxiety and helping your child during this Pandemic.
