Zach Gets Frustrated

Does your child get frustrated easily? If you have a child with ADHD (or any related disorder)  that gets frustrated very easily this can be an excellent book to read during mealtime or any quiet time. Zach Gets Frustrated by William Mulcahy is about a little boy named Zach who gets frustrated because his kite can’t fly properly. As a result of his frustration, he starts calling the kite names and wants to leave the beach. Since his family is having a good time, they didn’t want to leave the beach. Instead, his father took Zach through a three step approach to help reduce frustration, “Name It”, “Tame it”, “Reframe it”. The author even provides an excellent visual support to go along with the book so that your child can better understand the approach. I really enjoyed this book because low frustration tolerance is something many parents deal with on a daily basis. This can be overwhelming for both the parent and the child. This book gives the parent some useful tools to be able to reduce frustration and help your child. I think it can even help a parent getting frustrated as well!
